Graduation ceremony of Urban Design students (Batch 1-2)

In the morning of August 6, 2015, HCMUARC proudly held the graduation ceremony of urban design students (batch 1-2).

Distinguished guests at the ceremony included: Pham Tu (Associate Prof.Arch) – Rector of the university; Truong Ngoc An (M.Arch) – HCMUARC Party Secretary, Vice-Rector; Mr. Doan Van Viet – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province, Mr. Rene Martin Larsen - Asian Director of UCN Global Office Vietnam and other prestigious lecturers of the university,

The ceremony began with exciting songs and dance performed by students, which filled the whole audience with joy and happiness.

Coming up afterward is the solemn and hearty speech delivered by Rector Pham Tu. He made an overview through of the progressive program in Urban Design. Reportedly, Rector Pham Tu mentioned about challenges the students and their families encountered during their studies, e.g. language barrier, geographic distance, training procedures… The rector also pointed out that Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture would make every effort in helping students to reach the best outcome with their careers. On behalf of the university, the rector offered all graduates – architects-to-be his kindest congratulations and best wishes.

After the Rector’s speech, Mr. Ninh Quang Thang – Head of Training and Student Affairs Office presented awards to students having the highest thesis score including Le Quynh Nhu, Nguyen Ngo Phi Duong, Tran Trung Vinh. Le Cong Khanh, who was awarded the certificate of merits for his contribution on the position of class leader, delivered an impassioned speech showing his gratitude to the lecturers, families and the whole university for supporting him and his friends through all these challenges of the courses.

Reportedly, 13 students received University graduate degrees in this graduation ceremony, 9 of whom are awarded Belgian degrees by Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium).

The solemn ceremony finally came to an end with some small activities as the relatives joined with all students in photos-taking.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture in collaboration with the KU Leuven has delivered 4 Bachelor training batches of Urban Design so far: in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. The course was being continued with the fifth in 2013 and the sixth in 2014 in HCMUARC.

Student of batch 2009 and 2010 have completed their last academic year in Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and received Belgian degrees. The third-batch students are pursuing their last academic year in Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
